Introduction:

Taipa Grande Natural Park is located in eastern Taipa. It covers a large area of mountain forest surrounded by Estrada da Ponta da Cabrita, Estrada Governador Nobre de Carvalho and Estrada Padre Estevão Eusébio Sítu. Park facilities include viewing platform, viewing pavilion, children’s playground, barbecue area, artificial grass skiing ground, trail and tea garden, integrating multiple purposes including leisure, fitness enhancement, environmental protection, education, relaxation, etc. The park is a good place for the public to enjoy forest bathing, return to nature and enrich their leisure time.

 

Transportation

Currently, the park cannot be reached directly by bus. Visitors can take the bus to the airport, cross the footbridge, proceed to Rampa do Observatório through Golden Crown China Hotel and walk 200 metres uphill to reach the park. Visitors who drive to the park can enter the park by driving along Rampa do Observatório, or enter Taipa Grande Trail through Estrada Padre Estevão Eusébio Sítu. They can also get off at the bus stop near Avenida da Praia, Taipa in Estrada Governador Nobre de Carvalho and take the inclined elevator to reach the viewing platform directly and enter Taipa Grande Trail.

 

Artificial grass skiing ground

Grass skiing grounds have become popular for several decades in Europe, America, East Asia, etc. Now if the public want to go grass skiing in Macao, they may come to the artificial grass skiing ground here (opening hours: May to October: Tuesday to Friday 14:00-18:00; Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 09:00-18:00; November to April of the following year: Tuesday to Friday 14:00-17:00; Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 09:00-17:00. The venue is closed to the public on Monday for weekly maintenance. If Monday falls on a public holiday, it is open on that Monday and closed on the following working day. When “Tropical Cyclone Signal No.3 or above”, “Thunderstorm Warning”, or “Rainstorm Warning” is issued by the Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau or in case of bad weather conditions, excessive slipperiness or maintenance, the grass skiing ground is temporarily closed to the public.)

 

Sliding down the grass slope on a grass sledge is a leisure activity suitable for all ages, and the grass skiing facilities are free of charge. Moreover, the viewing platform, viewing pavilion, children’s play area, barbecue area, round square and green corridor are all ideal places for recreational activities.

 

Taipa Grande Viewing Platform

The viewing platform can be reached by taking the inclined elevator near Avenida da Praia, Taipa in Estrada Governador Nobre de Carvalho. In addition to viewing the scenery of the Wetland in Avenida da Praia, Taipa from afar throughout the year, visitors can also get a panoramic view of nearly 180 degrees of the Portuguese landscape of Taipa Old Village and the newly developed high-density urban landscape. Gazing at the scenery at night, visitors can also see the lights of Cotai glittering like the stars in the sky and showing tourists the direction of entertainment.
